Dan Ellis Jazz Funeral -- A typical jazz funeral begins with a processional march by the family and friends, joined by a Jazz band. Throughout the march, the band plays very slowly and mournfully – such as: ‘Just a Closer Walk with Thee.’ A change in the tenor of the ceremony takes place, after either the deceased is buried, or when the hearse leaves the procession and members say their final good bye as they ‘cut the body loose.’ Then, the music becomes more upbeat.

Remember Me
Poem by Jessie Heitzmann of Pass Christian, MS -- 8-1-2012
Remember Me
When comes the day I return to dust,
As inevitably we all must,
Lay me down, though not with tears,
But joy for all the happy years.
Remember me in all things I love,
A rainbow arc in the sky above,
In winds that sing to swaying trees,
And moonlight’s glow on velvet seas.
Remember me in a summer storm
With lightning streaks in brilliant form,
In an evening sunset’s fiery blush
And twilight’s quiet, sleepy hush.
My spirit will live on, I pray,
In all I’ve touched along the way.
And if thoughts of me invoke a smile,
I’ll know my life has been worthwhile.

My neighbors are so excited about my upcoming Jazz Funeral that they have dedicated a Cemetery in my honor. Complete with Tomb Stones and Grave diggings out from my front yard. In addition, I already have 25 pallbearers and eight mourners besides the officiates. Anyone interested, step up to the plate!
PS -- the formation of the diggings appear to be shapped like oyster shells -- Yummie! Give me a dozen raw!

Centurions
Had a good meeting yesterday to organize a select group of aged gentlemen who will act as prime ministers for the Jazz Funeral. More on this group as the members allow their names to be used.

Fri, Dec 21 Scenarios
After meeting with Rod Minner with Rowdy Beaver, Fatima with Pied Piper, and John Wiley and Bill Saraad with New Delhi --- the Friday Itineray and Agenda has been set
Having put a lot of planning on paper materialized by having the above owners agree to each Scenario that will take place at their establishments. How many of you have had the chance to plan your own Funeral and Services and selection of your pallbearers. This is getting to be a Big Hoot!
Thus, I have updated my web site at: http://www.JazzFuneral.DanEllis.Net

Monday's Journal
Invited Charles Templeton over for coffee this a.m. and we chatted about Viking Funeral arrangements as part of the New Delhi Experience for "Dan's Jazz Funeral" -- Charles was enthused by all means.
After lunch, met with Rod Minner at the Rowdy Beaver. He volunteered support as well as checking on a Black Horse Drawn Hearse near one of his vacant lots at TableRock.
